Albert Hofmann, a Swiss chemist who invented the hallucinogenic drug LSD, dies at the age of 102. Hofmann defended LSD, despite criticism that it had corrupted millions of minds. "I produced the substance as a medicine. ... It's not my fault if people abused it," he once said.
